ZZ Raven is the dark purple green version of the more common bright green variety. Originating in central Africa, Zamioculas Raven, or the ZZ plant is very well adapted to coping with drought and it will tolerate neglect - so if you tend to forget to water plants then this one will forgive you - at least for a while! In Tanzania it’s known for its medicinal qualities, being used to treat a multitude of maladies! We wouldn’t be able to recommend using it in a medical way but we do know the therapeutic value of houseplants - they are known to relieve stress and anxiety and elevate mood.

This one is really easy to care for, perfect for beginners.

Where should I put it?

Zamioculas Raven are really unfussy - it won’t like direct light but it will cope with darker corners, although it prefers bright light.

How should I water it?

Water when the top few inches of soil are dry, soak through and leave to drain.

What about feeding?

You need to give the ZZ plant a feed once a month in spring and summer - try our vegan, organic plant food!

Is it suitable if I have pets?

No, this plant can be toxic to cats and dogs.
